The Problem With Canadian Politics

As we head into a Provincial election in Ontario I am faced with yet another decision on who to vote for. The problem with the politics in this country is that they are so disgustingly partisan. Here's a breakdown of the 3 mainstream choices:

NDP: What I like about the NDP is that they hate big banks and oil companies. They understand that we don't need corporate tax cuts in this country. Is CIBC or Suncor going to go out of business because the corporate tax rates are a little bit higher? Is Wal-Mart going roll up shop and stop all sales and investment in the closest foreign country to their home base that isn't an absolute shithole? Get real! I work in the finance department for a major Canadian company and I'm exposed to a lot of business cases. The tax rate is usually near the bottom of considerations when an investment decision is to be made. It's just a bankhanded way to feed the rich more money and say it'll somehow help the economy and spur investment.

The problem with the NDP is that they like poor people, drug addicts, unions and similar types of losers. I don't have a problem with private company unions. If GM is led by a bunch of idiots then it's probably a good idea that the workers organize to protect themselves. I just can't stand CUPE and other government-focused unions that want to siphon people's tax dollars straight to their pockets and provide poor government services because the dumbest 10% of their employees need to be protected by job security. I could go on about the other groups I mentioned but I think it should be pretty self-explanatory as to why I think those people suck. I don't want to vote for a party that's going to help those people/entities. If the NDP ever took office again, Ontario would become one big safe-injection site.

Conservatives: They hate poor people, unions, drug addicts and the like, but they like oil companies and big banks. That means they can't get the vote either.

Liberals: They hate poor people AND they hate oil companies and big banks. At first this seems like the party for me. Unfortunately they love criminals, liars and themselves. And since most Liberals are liars and criminals, that means they doubly love liars and criminals. This is bad and they can't get my vote either.

So basically, I want to vote for the party that HATES poor people, HATES oil companies and other big business, HATES unions, and HATES criminals. I wouldn't mind a party that LOVES the middle-class and the environment. Tax breaks for the middle class, not for the rich oil companies. True defense of our environment, not for unionized forestry industries so all our trees get cut down and shipped to China just so some uneducated bum up north can continue his comfortable, overpaid union job.

Hello Green Party???? Where are you and why are you going to get like 2% of the popular vote? Why after such a long time in existence as a party do you have no clue on how to electioneer? Mike Harris started just a little above your level in 1995 and won a majority just with a campaign of making lazy welfare bums work for their money. Surely you can piece a campaign better than that! Hudak blowing his lead and going into a virtual tie with McGuinty should show you that people in Ontario are aching for a change (a change for the better, not worse, so stop licking your chops NDP). Stop dropping the ball on this!!!
